TV screen stays black

Power, the selected source or a device fault may be responsible.

Never open TVs or power supplies. Stop using them if there is a burning smell, smoke or crackling. Do not disconnect power during an update.

Check the power indicator and try the button on the TV instead of only the remote. Open the on-screen menu.
If the menu appears, check the input and HDMI cable using the “TV shows no signal” instructions.
If no update is running, turn the TV off, unplug it for about a minute and restart. Do this only if the undamaged plug is safely accessible.
If even the menu stays invisible, record the model and blinking lights for service. Stop using it if there is smoke, a burning smell or crackling. Never open the case: dangerous voltages can remain inside.
