TV has a picture but no sound

Mute, output selection or an external soundbar may be responsible.

Never open TVs or power supplies. Stop using them if there is a burning smell, smoke or crackling. Do not disconnect power during an update.

Check mute and volume on both the TV and connected receiver.
Temporarily select the TV’s internal speakers in its sound menu. Menu names depend on the model.
Try another channel or app. If only one source is silent, check that source’s audio output.
For a soundbar, check power, selected input and the correct HDMI ARC/eARC socket in the manual. Note existing audio settings before changing them.
