Laptop battery will not charge

The charger, port, charging limit or battery may be responsible.

Stop using or charging a swollen battery or unusually hot device. Keep away from smoke or damaged wiring; do not open batteries or power supplies.

If the battery is swollen, there is a burning smell, unusually intense heat or a damaged cable, stop charging and seek qualified help. Never open the battery or power supply.
Check connections and use a charger suitable for the model. A matching USB-C plug does not guarantee sufficient charging power.
Does Windows show external power but a steady charge around 80 percent? Check the manufacturer’s app for an intentional charging limit.
If charging still fails at a low battery level, record the laptop and charger models for support. Do not force calibration by repeatedly draining the battery completely.
