Bluetooth headphones connected but no sound

Audio may be routed elsewhere, or another connection may interfere with playback.

Stop if unsure or if a new warning appears. Save your work before changes and ask IT before changing a work device. Never disclose passwords or recovery keys.

Check volume and mute on both the headphones and PC. Play a familiar audio file.
Open Settings → System → Sound and select the headphones as the output. Also check the affected app’s audio selection.
Temporarily disconnect the headphones from another phone or tablet. Some models play only one source at a time.
Turn the headphones off and on again. Remove the pairing only if you know how to put them back into pairing mode using the manual.
