Second monitor not detected

Input selection, cable, display settings or port capabilities may be responsible.

Stop if there is smoke, a burning smell or severe graphics corruption under load. Avoid speculative stress tests, overclocking or power-supply work.

Check power and the second monitor’s input. Some USB-C ports carry data but no video; check the device manual.
Press Windows + P and choose Extend if you want separate work areas on both screens.
Open Settings → System → Display → Multiple displays and use Detect if available. Test each monitor on its own.
Try another suitable cable or connect directly without a dock. Check the supported display count and resolution for both PC and dock; a matching connector does not guarantee video support.

Test after each step and stop when the issue is solved. Checkmarks are not permanently saved.
