Graphics card: no picture on monitor

The monitor, socket, cable or graphics hardware may be responsible.

Stop if there is smoke, a burning smell or severe graphics corruption under load. Avoid speculative stress tests, overclocking or power-supply work.

Check monitor power and its own menu. Select the HDMI or DisplayPort input actually in use.
On a desktop with a dedicated graphics card, the display cable usually connects to the card rather than the motherboard. Check externally only; not every PC has integrated graphics.
Turn off the PC and monitor and check the cable. If possible, try another suitable cable or monitor.
If there is never a picture even during startup, Windows drivers are not the first thing to check. Note beeps or diagnostic lights for qualified help; do not open the power supply or case without suitable expertise.

Test after each step and stop when the issue is solved. Checkmarks are not permanently saved.
