0x80070005 – Access denied

Windows or a program was not allowed to access a file or folder.

Stop if unsure or if a new warning appears. Save your work before changes and ask IT before changing a work device. Never disclose passwords or recovery keys.

Note which program, file or action triggers the error. This code indicates denied access; it does not automatically mean your PC is faulty.
Close the affected application, save other work, and restart Windows if necessary.
For a file or network share, ask the owner for the necessary rights. Do not take ownership of entire system folders or change their permissions indiscriminately.
Only install trusted packages from official sources. If administrator approval is required, ask the person responsible for the device.
