0x8007016A – Cloud file provider is not running

For placeholder files, such as in OneDrive, the associated cloud client is not available.

Stop using a drive with unusual noises, read errors or data loss. Do not format, initialise or repair speculatively; seek qualified recovery advice.

Open OneDrive from the Start menu. Check the cloud icon in the notification area and sign in with the correct account if necessary.
Check internet and free storage on PC and cloud. Wait until the sync starts again.
For important files, first check whether they are there via the official cloud website. Do not simply delete the local cloud directory or disconnect the account without security.

Test after each step and stop when the issue is solved. Checkmarks are not permanently saved.
