0x800700E1 – File detected as a virus or unwanted software

Windows or antivirus prevented access to a suspicious file.

Stop if unsure or if a new warning appears. Save your work before changes and ask IT before changing a work device. Never disclose passwords or recovery keys.

Do not run the file again. Open Windows Security → Virus & Threat Protection → Protection History.
Read the discovery name and the affected file path. Don't disable antivirus or add an exception just to start the file.
Obtain the program exclusively from the official provider. If you suspect a false alarm, ask the provider or IT to check.

Test after each step and stop when the issue is solved. Checkmarks are not permanently saved.
