0x80070079 – Timeout (semaphore)

An operation timed out. The code can appear during network or disk access.

Do not factory-reset a router speculatively or indiscriminately disable Wi-Fi security or a firewall. Get permission before changing someone else’s network.

Note whether a network share or external drive is affected.
If there are network problems, check the connection and target device; For an external drive, test the cable and direct connection after safely ejecting it.
If there are recurring reading errors, noises or irreplaceable files, stop further attempts and consult a data recovery professional.
