Record the stop code. Avoid speculative repairs after repeated crashes or drive errors. Contact IT for work computers.

Write down the stop code and when the crash occurs.
If Windows starts and there are no drive noises or read errors, back up important files to another drive.
Note down the last installed drivers and programs. Do not use automatic driver updaters.
If repeated, seek expert diagnosis. If there are any drive warning signs, do not attempt any further repairs or copies.
