Read the complete step before making changes. Stop if unsure or if new warnings appear.
Take a photo of the error message or write down the stop code and a specified driver name. Share the photo only with trusted help; do not publish passwords.
First wait for the automatic data collection and the restart. If the PC freezes permanently, long pressing the on/off button is only the last resort; unsaved work is lost. If you get stuck in a starting loop, don't try endlessly, get help.
Write down which programs, updates or devices were added shortly before the first crash. You can find recent updates under Settings → Windows Update → Update History. Don't randomly remove drivers.
Save everything. Press Windows + R, type mdsched.exe and press Enter. Select the test on the next reboot or restart immediately. The test can take time. If errors are reported, seek specialist help; An inconspicuous test does not definitely rule out a RAM defect.
Only if there is no indication of drive damage and important data is backed up: Open “cmd” as administrator, enter chkdsk C: /scan and press Enter. If you hear clicking noises or important files cannot be read, do not start any further tests, but request data recovery.
Note the frequency, stop codes and steps already attempted. Give this information to a trustworthy workshop or the responsible IT department. Don't share passwords and secure important files if it's safe to do so.
